18 Miles and Counting…

A somewhat challenging (hilly) route today – totally underestimated some of the gradients so got quite a shock to the system when I had to start climbing. The lack of a footpath at the side of the road for about 3 miles at one point didn’t help either but managed to avoid being taken out by a van cutting the corner a bit tight! Overall though, fairly pleased with the time of 2:45 for 18 miles – which is slightly faster than predicted and didn’t feel like I was pushing it too hard.

Anyway, 20 miles next week at that’s the max distance I’ll be doing from this point forward in training, only the actual marathons will be longer. Hopefully I’ll be doing a comfortable 20 miles by the time the first race comes along in Jan.
